Organic Options

Friday, July 24, 2009

lat4415Just as all-natural, organic foods have allowed consumers to understand exactly what they’re eating, organic fabrics help keep unknown and potentially hazardous materials out of the home. Conscientious parents are constantly on the lookout for infant clothing made from soft, high-quality fabrics; organic options ensure safety and comfort alike.

Whether they’re made to fit a newborn infant or an active toddler, clothing and accessories can be found in all-natural, 100 percent cotton varieties. These garments are fashioned from cotton that has never been touched by harmful pesticides. Likewise, the finished products are never treated with bleach, which can irritate a baby’s skin.

Baby and Toddler colds

Friday, July 24, 2009

imagesDoes your little one have a cold?

The first sign of a cold is often a congested or runny nose.

A baby’s cold for a parent could be an alarming, an unpleasant  situation, seeing how uncomfortable they get with a runny nose, and a stuffy nose is worrying, and stressful for a us parents, specially the mother, because of  the discomfort they go through most babies would tend not to eat, or eat less, due to the blockage in their little nose (stuffy nose), therefor our worry is usually their weight loss and/or lack of enough nutrition.

A few things you may try until you bring your baby to his/her Pediatrician is baby rub and or Menthol on their chest to open up their nose passage so they can breath better, making it easier for them to be fed. Besides the medicine the Pediatrician prescribes, if not given by Pediatrician it’s advisable to ask your Pediatrician for prescription of drops to administer through  their nose to clear the nose passage, in turn they will feed better

At Tots Trends we are committed to bring to you not just subjects on Toddlers fashion. We will try to post anything that may affect your  daily Parents/Child life routine.

Bathing your New Born

Wednesday, July 22, 2009

1007Most babies at their early age usually like baths, that is providing you introduce them to it in a proper manner, making sure the water temperature is right for then, and that they’re comfortable in a small plastic baby bath tub. Besides taking a ride in the car, a bath is also something that helps them relax, (well isn’t that true for us  adults also)? For the most part babies relax, and sleep after a bath, this gives babies a signal and could help set up a routine, Bath time/Bed time.

Before your baby becomes to big for that plastic baby bath, and can sit on his/her own its probably time to start making a transition to the big bath tub, its usually a good practise to use the small plastic baby bath tub in the big bath tub so they don’t get overwhelmed or distressed by it. This transition could be made easier by using the room in the big bath with toys and games for yous baby. Make sure to bring to make the tub safe, and follow safety precautions including having everything necessary for your babies bath like bath lotion, baby shampoo,Infant Terry Hooded Towel and Washcloth Set for your infant, or a Cozy Bath Robe for your toddler, this way you don’t have to leave your baby alone in the bath.

Organic Children’s Clothing

Tuesday, July 21, 2009

The term Organic has escalated and gained top status in the past decade, organic products have to meet strict guidelines, made by The National Organic Standards Board, are met. Every step in the production of the item must clear those guidelines, from the soil where the item is grown to the processing facilities in which it is created. All organic products must meat  biological and ecological standards, that makes the products much safer to use.
Organic products are even found in local grocery stores often in sections created for organic products and foods
specifically
It is now a consumer demand the number one reason that has major manufactures and corporations making the switch to producing “certified organic” products. The reason for such big demand it’s health. People choose it for their own health, and also for their children health

Did you know that a baby’s skin is more porous and thinner than adults?  Their skin absorbs things very easily, baby’s skin also produces less melanin, the substance that protects the skin from sunburn,  babies also sweat less efficiently than adults do.

Toxins are cut down by the use of Organic Children’s Clothing . Organic clothing uses cotton that is not farmed in the conventional ways.

Toddlers Safety Tip

Monday, July 20, 2009

Toys and objects toddles play also with pose a big concern:
l_5629a5a158db3d80c0414a70db774566 They’re growing up, and for the most part they are very curious, and like to explore, toddlers investigate to find out what’s inside a toy and how the toy is made, so is very important for us as parents to understand, the level of curiosity, of our toddlers. Make or find a safety precaution list aside from following the precaution   getting   toys according to their age, and assure they have passed the US regulations.

One important point also is to make sure that at home we keep small gadgets out of their reach. I recall an instance when I read in a children’s magazine about a toddler playing with a hand calculator, had managed to open the battery compartment and swallowed the tiny battery. A battery lodged in the esophagus poses very serious danger, it could burn their throat.

Toddlers Clothing should also be picked, and inspected accordingly

Potty Training

Saturday, July 18, 2009

lat4601Think of your Baby as a person. (personality)

  • Children do things at their own pace
  • All children are different and do things differently and shouldn’t be compared with other children including siblings.
  • Accidents are part of the learning process
  • Repetition is the mother of perfection. It does take a while for some children to learn, but let them keep trying they’ll meet the standards.
  • Children become frustrated from time to time when they can’t do things older kids can. It is important to understand and be patient until they      take control of their bodily functions.
  • “Understanding their fear” toilets are big to them, hard to reach. flushing may be noisy and scary. Place all necessary step stools, baby toilet trainer seat.
  • Potty comes from their body. They do wonder what happens to it after they flush
  • The action listed above could bring an overwhelming reaction.
  • Explain some of the steps with words and a tone of voice comfortable to your child. It will make more sense to them
  • Last but not Least. Always praise and reward, positive reactions for a positive action, understand there will be accidents

NOTE: Pull up diapers, Infant Fleece Sweatpants, and/or Creeper will make the above possible, and easier for your TOT

Keeping your Toddler clean

Saturday, July 11, 2009

Toddler clothingToddlers’ getting dirty is just a fact of life.  It happens all the time.  That being said, every parent knows and expects a little dirt and a few stumbles are common place with most toddlers. And with all the crawling and eventually walking, parents should make sure to purchase toddler clothing that will stand up to wear and tear.

Toddlers are constantly growing and growing fast. Parents can cope with growing spurts by buying clothing that is a bit too big.  Loose clothes are less likely to rip, and are more comfortable to wear.

Necessary Products for Baby Bath Time

Tuesday, July 07, 2009

hooded-towelOne of the best times for new parents and their infant to bond is during bath time. Parents just want to make sure they have everything needed for the safest and most fun bath time experience possible. To that end, always make sure you have baby-specific shampoo and soap. This will be gentle on their skin, and it won’t sting if it gets in their eyes. This will be greatly appreciated when your little one splashes and thrashes and inadvertently gets soap in their face.

You also want to make sure you have a bathtub or a sink bumper. This will add a protective layer of cushion in case your little one does slip or fall. You also want to end bath time with a hooded towel. This will be a soft, warm, and comforting end to the bath. And because it’s outfitted with the hood, your baby has a minimal chance of catching cold.

The Perfect Baby Shower Gift

Tuesday, June 23, 2009

newborn-clothing

If you know somebody that’s expecting, it’s very likely that you’re trying to think of the perfect baby shower gift. And while these kinds of gift giving events can be stressful, it’s important to remember that the main thing is to select a gift that the parents really need. While decorative items are always appreciated, practical items are usually the ones that end up actually being used.

This is why so many people choose newborn clothing as their baby shower gift of choice. This is a great fallback gift because the more clothes the baby has, the less time the parents have to spend doing laundry. And when the baby doesn’t sleep through the night and the parents are frazzled from all the time and energy that must go into raising a child, little time savers like that can be the real gift.
