Cold Weather Clothing

Thursday, August 27, 2009

infant-clothingWith parts of the country experiencing record-setting heat waves, it’s easy to forget that fall is just around the corner. The dog days of August will soon give way to those cool September mornings and afternoons, and that means it’s time for parents to outfit their newborns accordingly. Infants grow up incredibly fast, so bear in mind that you’ll probably need an update from last winter’s wardrobe.

When looking for unique infant clothing, keep an eye out for soft downy fabrics. A child’s comfort should always come first, so insulation and warmth should be carefully considered. In many cases, parents can find fall and winter clothing at discount prices if they begin their search early enough. The important thing is that you don’t get caught out in the cold.

Toddler’s Developement

Monday, August 24, 2009

Being a Toddler is difficult when it comes to the transition of becoming of pre-school age, this is the time when they have difficulty relating to other Tots and other authority figures (Teachers). The first week of school, for the most part is difficult for both parents and the pre-school child.

Most children fear to be left in school and to have to associate with other children and to again ! face for once a new authority figure. However there is a healthy way to help them go to this transition and help them build up confidence.

To help alleviate this crucial development step parents could set up dressing up play sessions with friends, family and neighbours of the same age group “Tots”, these dressing up lys or games could help them develop social awareness witch is also a great start/opportunity for parents to learn what their (Tots) interests are.

These dressing up sessions could be carried out as plays, giving each one of the children a chance to play the role of an authority figure or a responsible adult like a Doctor, Policeman, Fireman, Arm Forces Member,  Bus diver, and so on giving them each an opportunity to act authoritative and with that develop confidence. Animal costumes may also be used , dressing the up as different animals give them the tasks according to the costume of making the respective sounds and gestures witch will help them learn to express

Halloween could be a good opportunity to start these exercises due to the variety of costumes that may be obtained at  Seasonal Clothing sectors.

Children Clothing Evolution

Friday, August 21, 2009

lat4600-t13381-tbba4107-t

Children’s clothing used color to differentiate genders from the beginning of times. In the olden days where little boys looked like little girls, and vice versa the distinction can be made by the color of the clothes. Little girls wore different shades of pink and little boys wore different shades blue, this is still true today as it was in the era of days gone by.

In the olden days, when pictures, and paintings were black and white it was not easy to distinguished if a child was male or female. Although the color made a distinction in person children clothing had to also be different in general appearance as well in order to determine the gender. This was also manifested by the hair style. It became conventional that little girls wear pretty dresses and their hair long while the little boys would wear the pants and sport short hair. However due to the evolution of time, little girls of today have adopted to wearing pants but the day hasn’t come yet where the boys adopted the dresses of girls!
So I think is important to keep that conventional way of making a distinction of Children Clothing by using different colors for each gender.

Back to School Preparation

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

The end of the summer is approaching us very quickly, and back to school days is coming upon us. Are you prepared?

I was doing  some shopping for certain things I need  for the house, and to my surprise  pre-sales for back to school  items are already up, and took advantage of some of the sales. You may have in mind to do a little spending for  home items  but suddenly children become a priority once again after all their future starts when they’re born and we have to establish that good future for them.

The good news is that we can relax, and do it all from home “online shopping” is so much better to relax in a nice air conditioned room, and do all research for sales, and shop; shop for school supplies , School Uniforms, and some back to school clothing if is not enforced in your borough to  wear School Uniforms. I do recommend the even if it’s not enforced  that you get  a few sets of basic color  Uniforms and start getting your Children accustomed to the Idea It is so much easier to dress them for school in the morning

Packing your toddlers suitcase!

Monday, August 17, 2009

Summer vacation’s almost over!  weather you’re flying or taking a road trip with your toddler  the most important is the carry on bag. Flying ? you must take snacks or something that will help relieve the pressure during take off or landing , believe it or not a pacifier may help a great deal.

Packing toddler’s clothing shouldn’t be so hard, providing  you pick and coordinate the outfits. Make up outfits coordinating colors, remember personalizing their clothing  is a good Idea specially if you’re going to be visiting relatives and/or friends, you want your toddler to project his personality with what he/she wears, is usually cute, and is good conversation subjects
You can’t forget a small first aid kit with allergy medication, and include pain reliever/fiver reducer medicine, tooth brush, shampoo, and so on packed in a waterproof bag.

If you’re taking a road trip you may want to take picture books, and toys tokeep his/her attention. Pack a few little surprises for the trip so that you can bring them out when your toddler starts to get tired or restless or so that you can offer them as incentives for good behavior, make sure you have enough Toddler’s clothes, diapers/pull-ups and other necessities to last your child a day or two, in case your checked luggage gets accidentally sent to the wrong destination.

Baby Clothes: The Big Three

Thursday, August 13, 2009

onesie

Baby clothes can be separated neatly into three distinct categories, and it’s important that parents stock up on at least a few outfits from each. Especially young children will spend a great deal of their time in sleepwear. These garments are typically loose-fitting and warm enough to keep the child well insulated through the night. The second category is probably the least commonly utilized: dress-up clothes. These are to be worn during trips out into public or to visit a family member.

The most practical form of baby clothing is known as daywear. These clothes are appropriate for romping around the house. They should be durable and plentiful because babies have a tendency to spit up all over their clothes. In most cases, a onesie is appropriate for an infant to wear as he or she crawls around the household exploring that tiny world.

Summer Children Safety Tips

Monday, August 10, 2009

Summer has been very humid in the North East, and when humidity and high temperatures are combined danger increases due to the fact that the ability to perspire becomes more difficult. Children are in the group at most risk, not immune to harmful effects of hot summer Days. Experts recommendations to stay cool on hot humid summer days are as follows:
1.Give them plenty of fluids, preferably water, or electrolyte beverages before they get thirsty, if you wait till they’re thirsty that means yhey’re already dehydrated
2.Dress them with loose fitted summer children clothing, cotton and light colors that will allow their skin to breathe
3.Avoid letting them play in the heat during peak hours, even on a cloudy day UV rays still cause damage to the skin

4.Sunscreens with an SPF of 15 or greater are recommended (SPF 30 is recommended by the Food  and Drug Administration) to prevent skin cancer
Signs of dehydration:

  • Headache
  • Dry mouth (lips and Tongue)
  • Nausea
  • Muscle Cramps

They Grow Up So Fast

Friday, August 07, 2009

lt3710lgExperienced parents will attest that children develop quickly. A plump infant can morph into a svelte, rambunctious toddler in practically no time; if you blink, you might miss an important part of your kid’s development. While you still wield complete control over your child’s wardrobe choices, it’s best to take advantage. Outfitting a youngster in novelty clothes is largely done for the benefit and appreciation of other adults.

There’s nothing more unbearably cute than a toddler in a five-piece suit. This spectacle provides parents with plenty of photo opportunities, the results of which will endure in the form of saved snapshots. Little girls can lounge around on the weekends with their parents in a ladybug bath robe. Unlike childhood, the unique toddler clothing possibilities are endless. Before your kids take their wardrobe more seriously, have a little fun with it.

Baby’s comfort year round

Thursday, August 06, 2009

Babies should have comfort in clothing year round:
Have you ever been in this position: Your baby is crying and no matter what you do they continue crying non-stop? You do everything possible to make you baby comfortable. Your baby just finished his/her feeding so obviously you think they may be gassy, so you take care of that, you think it could be the noise bothering them , take them to their room/crib and crying doesn’t stop, they seem tired and sleepy but can’t fall asleep, you proceed  to  check their diaper, and even though there’s no need to change them, the crying has stopped !

Is summer time and even though the temperature in your house seems under control to you your baby might have felt warm and uncomfortable, so you notice you have overdressed him/her. The best type of clothing for your baby’s comfort on a hot summer day/night is cotton clothing, and even better, for comfort and health you and your baby will Love Organic kids clothing 100% cotton that will feel good against your baby’s skin in these hot summer days.

Infant in the Spot Light

Tuesday, August 04, 2009

On July 31st 2009 First Lady Michelle Obama Visited the Naval Base in Norfolk Virginia, the purpose of her visit to the Naval Base, on the return to the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group and the Navy hospital ship, the USNS Comfort,  to address military families! calling them “quiet heroes who represent the best in our country”
She told about 300 sailors and family members present in this event. “We must remember that when our troops are deployed, their families are left behind and face a different set of duties.”
My reason for addressing this event is one, because My granddaughter took part of this event when she was held in the arms of the First Lady, making this an impact on how important family values are to President Obama, and First Lady Michelle Obama
On the picture my granddaughter Keiyanna Valencia Meaney, and The First Lady.Six months old  Keiyanna is wearing a cute navy uniform design Dress, cute baby clothing design ! I’m compelled to adding this design to my baby clothing section.
